We have an outstanding teacher to student ratio in the classroom (~15:1), and over 50% of students work in labs and gain practical professional experience to begin developing their professional network. We have a strong professional development program that includes an arc of classes designed to provide a solid professional foundation and build core competencies for a career in STEM (EEB 205, EEB 311, EEB 490 and EEB 400, 492, or 493 for research and internship experiences). We also offer faculty and near-peer mentoring programs which pairs undergraduates in our program with faculty and graduate students matched by their interests.
Together, these opportunities allow our undergraduates to have hands-on learning experiences taught by experts in their fields, professional experiences, including the opportunity to present research locally, regionally and nationally, publish research projects, build networks, and position themselves for any professional program or career goal.
