ABOUT

EEB

Welcome to the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology!

We enable excellence in ecological and evolutionary science and education in an inclusive, collaborative environment that provides leadership for the field.

Our faculty is a mix of internationally known senior researchers and an energetic group of junior faculty at the cutting edges of their fields. Our strengths in ecology/environmental studies, evolutionary biology, behavior, conservation, quantitative biology, health sciences, global change, organismal biology and biology teaching practices position the department to be at the forefront of discovery.

Our transformative research, commitment to natural history collections, and our innovative and successful undergraduate and graduate student training have led us to be ranked in the top 10% nationally in research impact in ecology.

We embrace the goals of our land grant institution to emphasize the impact of our findings to advance both basic biological discoveries and create novel applications that address real world issues.
